Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year! The Breckinridge County School District is committed to Every Child, Every Day. With the expertise of staff and the available community resources, we work with all students to meet their individual needs. It is our goal to inspire and challenge our students and to give them the strong foundation they need for their futures.

     To our students as they return to classes on August 7^th, I encourage each of you to push for excellence in every facet of your life.  As opportunities present themselves, I urge you to take advantage of these opportunities and to pursue your interests.  The school system is here to serve you, the children of Breckinridge County, and our goal is for each of you to graduate with the tools necessary to pursue your dreams.

     To the parents and caregivers of our children, I ask that you continue to provide the support and nurturing environment that exemplifies the value of education.   I encourage you to become part of the educational community by visiting schools, attending meetings, becoming active in the SBDM process, joining school organizations such as PTA , PTO, and booster clubs, and attending extracurricular activities.  It is only through these partnerships that we can guarantee success for our children.

To the Board members and staff, I challenge you to work harder than ever to make the Breckinridge County School District second to none, to put children at the forefront of your minds when making decisions, and to make learning fun and school work challenging. I would like to invite you to the opening day activities which will be held at the Breckinridge County High School on Thursday, August 6th. We will begin at 7:00 a.m. with breakfast. Following breakfast, we will introduce all new staff, and then you will have the remainder of the day to prepare for classes on Friday.

The Board of Education and the staff of the Breckinridge County School System would like to take this opportunity to “thank” all parents and community members for their past support.  Thank you for your commitment to Every Child, Every Day.
